  15. Northwest Amiga Group's Raffle

  17.    After the fall of Commodore I left most of us in the U.S. no place to
  18.    turn for support.  Most of the support was left in Europe.  With this
  19.    effect our Raffle Drawing has suffered.  This is one of the better
  20.    capitol efforts we have.  At least it was.
  21.  
  22.    Now we are looking to revive it.  In the past we just asked for
  23.    donations and found it easy to get.  Now there are fewer sources left.
  24.    And those are still recovering from the aftermath.

  26.    We came up with an idea that might help both dealers and developers
  27.    both.  We have what has been regarded as a first class news letter, 
  28.    "The Northwest Amiga Journal".  What we purpose is this:

  30.    Since we do not qualify for a charitable contribution we are offering
  31.    advertising space of equal value to the retail value of the items
  32.    donated. Plus an announcement prior to the raffle of the items you
  33.    donated and finally the review of the donated item. This means a three
  34.    month exposure of you business.

  36.    If you are a developer or dealer and are interested please let us
  37.    know.  Let us help you as well as helping our efforts to support the
  38.    "Computer of Choice", the Amiga.

  43.    One of the main complaints of developers in countries outside of North
  44.    America is the lack of financial support from those of us in the U.S. 
  45.    I have to admit that I have a challenge in this area myself.  There
  46.    are several programs I wish to register but find myself unwilling to
  47.    do so.  The challenge comes from the extra charge for a foreign bank
  48.    draft which runs around $15 US.  When a programmer is asking around
  49.    $25 US that is a 60% increase.

  51.    I feel the solution is two fold.  The first is participation in the
  52.    above raffle where attendees and readers will see what the benefits of
  53.    registering will be.

  55.    The second is reducing the added cost of registration per person by
  56.    sharing the add charge.  This will also save you in shipping costs.
  57.  
  58.    If you are interested in participating in the programs above please
  59.    let me know so we can make arrangements.  We feel that it is important
  60.    to support the developer and would like to make it easier on both
  61.    parties to do so.
